How far can you and your four-legged sidekick wander in 30 chilly days? Slip into FULL-ON WALK MODE—one trot, ten trots, whatever—and log every mile. Watch them stack up like presents under the tree!
Here's our challenge to you:
-Walk every day in December.
-Track your miles with any GPS app (we ❤️ Wooftrax).
-Starting December 1st, log your miles and your progress for bragging rights + surprise prizes + special gifts and incentives. We use the honor system, so please be fair.
-Go fundraiser-mode: raise $100 and we’ll refund your $25 entry.
You don’t need a dog to join the Walk for Wags & Wishes—you can stroll solo, jog with your earbuds, or even strut your stuff on a treadmill! The goal is to move, have fun, and be a fundraising powerhouse for the pets who need us most! Every frosty step fuels Haven Pet Center’s no-kill adoption and medical programs. How we help animals:
Pulling "at risk" pets from high kill shelters and keeping them safe until they find forever homes.
This pup spent nearly a year at Haven Pet Center and finally found the perfect home
This cat was labeled "unadoptable". Because we focus on adoption rather than euthanasia, our staff worked with her for months and turned her into a lap cat. We wouldn't have been able to do this without your support.
This pup was pulled from a euthanasia list and brought to Haven where our staff found him a home. It took a while, but we ensure that these pets are engaged, happy, healthy and safe until they find a home.
Dutch had "cherry eye" and needed expensive surgery. The expensive surgery would have put Dutch on the euthanasia list at most other shelters. Not at Haven! We reached out to supporters and got him the surgery he needed. Dutch found his forever home immediately after.

Cookie had a large benign growth on her leg and was set to be euthanized at a local shelter. Our staff knew she was special, so pulled her and brought her to safety at Haven to get the medical treatment she needed. Because of your donations, we got her the lifesaving treatment she desparately needed. Look at Cookie now in her forever home now!
